Sauce
  • hoisin sauce 2 tablespoon
  • sesame oil 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
  • soy sauce 1/2 cup
  • water 1/2 cup
  • cornstarch 2 teaspoon
  • brown sugar 1/3 cup
  1. Combine ingredients in small bowl and whisk until homogenous.
Stir Fry
  • tofu 1 block
  • cornstarch 1 tablespoon
  • vegetable oil 2 tablespoon
  • ginger ,minced 2 teaspoon
  • garlic, minced 1 tablespoon
  • green onions, cut into 2 inch pieces, white parts kept separate 2 bunches
  1. Put tofu strips in a large mixing bowl, sprinkle with cornstarch and toss until coated.
  2. Heat a wok or heavy frying pan over high heat. Once hot, add the oil.
  3. Add the tofu and fry until golden brown. Add the garlic and ginger and fry for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add the sauce and white parts of the green onions and simmer until thickened, about a minute. Add the remaining green onions, stir to coat and remove from heat (the green onions should remain a little crispy).
  5. Serve immediately with steamed rice.
