Sauce
  • San Marzano Whole Peeled Tomatoes 28oz can
  • Olive Oil 1 Tbsp
  • Unsalted Butter 1 Tbsp
  • Garlic, microplaned 5 cloves
  • Dried Oregano 1 tsp
  • Red Pepper Flakes 1/2 tsp
  • Kosher Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Dried Basil 1 tsp
  • Yellow Onion 1 medium
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  1. In the can, use imersion blender until tomatoes are medium smooth.
  2. Slice onion into half inch thick rounds.
  3. Combine butter and oil in saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until butter is melted.
  4. Add garlic, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, and salt and cook while stirring frequently until fragrant.
  5. Add onion slices, sugar, and tomatoes to pan.
  6. Bring to simmer, reduce heat to lowest setting, and cook until reduced by half, stirring occasionally.
